MY STORY
At the core of what I do, I've always been a teacher. As a teenager, I discovered a gift for coaching and never doubted my capabilities for getting someone to understand a concept easily.

All my life, I've been teaching -- both literally and more esoterically. I graduated college with a degree in education and went on to teach high school English and Journalism for the next 9 years. It was through the Journalism program that I learned the art of Marketing. Not only did we have to hustle for every penny to fund our program, but we needed to represent the school and the community at the same time.

That experience was transformative -- I learned that I could use my teaching skills and my new-found marketing skills to communicate needs to an often unwilling audience. As it turns out, teaching high school is nothing more than a long-term marketing campaign where concepts are created, developed, and executed to an audience that isn't always fully bought-in to the concept. That's marketing!

Once I realized that marketing was my sweet spot, I made the career choice to pursue marketing full-time. I went back to school to earn my Associates degree in Visual Communications and joined a marketing firm to get my feet wet in a new industry.

Along the way, I enjoyed numerous promotions and accolades. My teaching background prepared me well for explaining difficult concepts in an easy-to-digest manner. And my marketing expertise brought a breath of fresh air to stale concepts and stagnant campaigns.

At Herff Jones, I was able to marry my educator background with my marketing expertise and help schools with their brand messaging and community marketing through yearbooks, newspapers, PR management, and school-of-choice promotional materials and events.

It was during one of these school-of-choice events that I got noticed by a Marketing Director from Comcast and was immediately recruited to head the Internal Marketing team at Comcast's West Division. There I was tasked with efforts to grow sales from within through marketing, communications, training, and events.

My next career move was to Structured Financial Associates and then on to Ringler Associates where I currently manage the national marketing strategy and work with senior leadership to increase sales, brand messaging and awareness, and customer loyalty.

When I'm not working, I have a wonderful family -- my husband who is still a high school math teacher, my 2 teenage daughters who delight and surprise me every single day, and my dog who sleeps near my feet in my office as I get work done. I've also recently re-connected with my old athletic self and have found my way back to the swimming pool. I work out 3 days a week and I find a ton of joy in Masters Synchronized Swimming where my team and I are currently the 2-time National Champions!
